We know that there are tons of questions you might have before going (or sending your student) on a mission trip. Below you’ll find just a few of the questions answered in our Guatemala Trip Packet that you will receive after applying for the trip. If you’d like to receive the informational packet now, just fill out this form:
I'd like to learn moreNo. Spacing for this trip is being limited to just 26 students across all 6 Lifepoint Campuses for this first year. This most likely means that not everyone who wants to go will get to go for this first trip. Applications will start being approved the week of August 3rd, 2025. These are some, but not all, of the things that will be considered when selecting trip participants:
1. Displays a personal commitment to their relationship with the Lord
2. Consistent Lifegroup attendance
3. Prior experience serving on a team
At the team house students will have access to snacks and food (mainly American style food that they will be used to eating), bottled water, and hot showers. Specific safety information about the living conditions in the team house and villages will be talked about in the pre-trip training meetings.
Students will be allowed have their cellphones at the team house, but we will not allow them to take them into the villages during the day. At the team house they will have access to high-speed internet which will typically work great for texting, calling, or Facetiming home. Our team leaders will have international cell-phone service while in the villages in case an emergency were to arise and we needed to make phone calls. If a student doesn’t have a phone, leader phones will be available at the team house to call home when they want to.
We will be flying to Guatemala City, and then we will be transported throughout the country in vans directed by our mission partner, STC.
Yes. On this trip we will have many different options for medical care, depending on the specific needs of each situation. We’ll have basic medicine at the team house, we’ll have access to local doctors and hospitals, and we’ll also have the ability to fly a student out to the closest “trusted” hospital in the case of a serious medical emergency. Every participant in the trip will be covered by our Travel Protection insurance which would cover the cost of any medical support that would be needed while on the trip.
This year we are taking 9 adults on the trip. Every adult that goes will pass a background check, and go through all the same pre-trip training as the students, and pre-trip trainings just for adults.
It is possible for parents to go on this trip as part of the 9 adult leaders, but it is not guaranteed that they will be able to go. We will prioritize bringing leaders who currently serve with student in our ministry, or parents with prior mission trip experience.
An initial deposit of $250 is to when you are approved for the trip. The remaining balance for the trip is due by January 4th, 2026. **Information about financial scholarships to lower the cost of the trip is provided in the Guatemala Trip Packet.**
