At Lifepoint, you’ll find that our local outreach is done almost entirely through our Lifegroups. We believe that across our 4 campuses and 100+ Lifegroups, we can simply do more and do it better when our groups take the initiative and serve where they naturally have influence and passion! Below are some resources to help Lifegroups take the next step in serving our city (they are great resources for individuals and families as well). If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
While the majority of our local outreach is done through Serve the City and our Lifegroups, there are occasional opportunities that our church participates in Lifepoint wide.
After years of prayer and waiting on the Lord, Lifepoint is coming alongside Vision Baptist Centre in Kakira in deeper partnership, to encourage and empower them to do transformational Kingdom work in their community.
In October 2017, Lifepoint, Vision Baptist Centre, and Children’s HopeChest established the Kakira CarePoint, a designated place within the Kakira community to serve as the base of ministry to sponsored children. Lifepoint families and individuals are being asked to prayerfully consider entering into a relationship with a child in Kakira through sponsorship.
The Wide Open World Missions Fund was born out of a trip to South Africa in 2006. It was there that the words “the world is wide open to the gospel” were spoken by a church planter among the Zulu people. Since that time, these words continue to inspire the movement of Lifepoint’s church body towards participating in God’s redeeming work in Mid-Ohio, the Mid-West, and the World.
Since 2007, over $520,000 has been given to the Wide Open World Fund and nearly 500 short-term missionaries have been sent from Lifepoint’s church body.
In addition to the sending of short-term workers, the Wide Open World helps support 2 long-term missionary families, faculty salaries at two indigenously led seminaries abroad, local and international church plants & much more.
