Lifepoint & The Corona Virus

March 12, 2020

Dear Lifepoint Family,

As many of you already know, Gov. Mike DeWine and Ohio health officials issued an order this afternoon banning large public gatherings in Ohio. While this order banning gatherings of more than 100 people does not apply to religious institutions, in an effort to guard the health of our church family, Lifepoint has decided to cancel all events this Sunday. Dr. Acton from the State Health department reiterated that avoiding mass gatherings this weekend will help save the lives of the most vulnerable among us.

What this means for us:

We will not be meeting at any of our 4 campuses this Sunday, March 15, 2020, for any regularly scheduled worship services or events.

Options available for Sunday worship:

In moments like this, our pastoral team believes it is more important than ever to stay connected and support one another. In response, we will be live-streaming Sunday morning worship services at our regularly scheduled times of 9:30am and 11:00am. We strongly encourage you to tune in to the live-stream this weekend and join Pastors Kale, Ed, Adam, and me. You can watch live on the website, live on Facebook, or live on the Lifepoint App (under media). If you miss the live message you can view the message archive any time after the 11:00am service on the website or via the Lifepoint App.

How should I respond:

Our pastoral staff encourages you to worship online through the live-stream this Sunday. You can either choose to do that as an individual/family in your home or your Lifegroup can choose to meet together on Sunday and live-stream the service together. We realize that everyone will need to make the choice that makes the most sense for them so we ask you to make that decision as an individual/Lifegroup.

How will Lifepoint respond moving forward:

This is an extremely fluid situation with information updates happening daily. The Lifepoint pastoral team will meet on Monday and determine the best course of action moving forward over the next several weeks. We know that each campus will have slightly different needs based on their facilities. Please stay informed as we release updated information on our website and through email communication.

This is not a time for the church to backpedal…just the opposite is true. Jesus said that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the church. The church was born for crises just like this one. If you are a Christian, you were made for this moment. Join us this Sunday, as we talk about how to fight hysteria with hope and how to fight fear with faith.
