Where Does The Bible Come From?

Contrary to what some may believe, the Bible didn’t drop down out of heaven. But neither is it simply a collection of man’s writings. Instead, the Bible was written by men, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and over the course of many hundreds of years recognized as the authoritative word of God. Looking specifically at the New Testament, over the course of the first four centuries after Christ the church utilized specific criteria to compile, debate, and ultimately agree upon what writings would be considered the canon of Scripture. The product of this process is what we know today as the Bible.
