Week 5 – April 9-16 (Holy Week)
Pray for our Neighbors
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
This week, we continue to pray for our neighbors. In particular, we want to acknowledge the reality that so many of the people in our communities are hurting. Relationships are in tension, money is tight, food is scarce, friends are non-existent, drugs are destroying, homes are in disrepair…
Jesus has commanded us to love our neighbors. As we pray for them this week, pray that God would provide for people out of His abundant goodness. Pray that we would be moved to be a generous people – both with our time and our money. Pray that Jesus and His church would receive the glory as we work to help the people in our communities. Finally, pray that we would be faithful to invest in people and to invite people to Lifepoint…so that they might experience the joy of knowing Christ and being a part of a community seeking to experience and share the joy of knowing and walking with Him.
